Digital Learning Resources

An LMS delivers and manages all types of content, including videos, courses, workshops, and documents. In the education and higher education markets, an LMS will include a variety of functionality that is similar to corporate but will have features such as rubrics, teacher and instructor-facilitated learning, a discussion board, and often the use of a syllabus. Some of these platforms even offer emotional check ins on students! These are 4 resources that I personally use and some that I look forward to using.

PREZI

The key to a good presentation is telling an effective story. Prezi helps to emphasise the beginning, middle and end, as the information is arranged spatially; additionally, the transitions and zoom feature help to visually explain how the different points and ideas relate to one another.

KAHOOT!

Kahoot! is a tool that motivates and activates students' learning because it can test their knowledge, reiterate important concepts, and help them retain information. It also provides instructors with the ability to further create class discussion and student-to- student interaction.

Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that provides instructors and students a way to meet online synchronously via a personal PC/laptop or cell phone with or without using video. Instructors can set up Zoom meetings to conduct classes online, as well as record them for later access by students.

Lumio

Lumio takes learning tools that you may already use in your classroom, like Google slides, and transforms them into active and collaborative learning experiences to further engage students. What is even more amazing is that Lumio allows you to combine pages from different resources!
